Collinwood Man Arrested on Charges of Burglary, Attempted Murder

   Luis Manuel Medina, age 36, of Collinwood, was arrested on Monday, July 6th following an incident at 1111 Cook Road in Iron City.

   According to the arrest report filed by Investigator Dusty Malugen, Medina allegedly burglarized a shop located at 1111 Cook Road in Iron City, Tennessee and stole a firearm from within the shop. Medina was confronted by one of the victims, who allegedly requested Medina to give back the firearm and leave the premises. An altercation ensued, resulting in one victim being shot. Another victim stated that Medina pointed the firearm at him as well and proceeded to pull the trigger, but the firearm did not discharge.

   Medina was arrested on charges of especially aggravated burglary, theft under $1,000, and two counts of criminal attempt of first degree murder. He was booked into the Wayne County Jail with no bond.
