Collinwood Man Arrested for Filing False Report

   Jeffery Scott Heatherly, age 54, of Collinwood, was arrested on Thursday, November 21^st on a charge of filing a false report. On Tuesday, November 19^th, Heatherly reported that his truck had been stolen from a farm on Barnett Branch Road in Wayne County. When the truck was entered into the NCIC computer as stolen, dispatchers alerted officers that the truck’s information was run on Friday, November 15^th in connection with a hit-and-run in Lawrence County. Heatherly allegedly admitted to State Trooper Ethan Purcell after filing the report on the truck being stolen that he had actually been driving the truck when the hit-and-run occurred, and that he had gone on to file a false report. Heatherly was booked into the Wayne County Jail on $25,000.00 bond.
