Collinwood Depot Branch Library will be hosting a Robotics/Coding Summer Camp for students who will be in grades 5-8 during the upcoming school year. The summer camp will be held at Collinwood Middle School from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. This camp will be for two days. You can choose what days you would like to attend: Monday, July 6th & Tuesday, July 7th (Group 1) or Wednesday, July 8th & Thursday, July 9th (Group 2). Classes will be taught by Patricia Caceres and Patrick Brewer.

The camp will be free for students; however, transportation and lunch will not be provided. There are ten spots available for each group. Spots are on a first come, first serve basis.

Following state guidelines for coronavirus, temperatures of staff and children will be checked before beginning each day. Masks are encouraged but not required. Students may bring snacks and drinks. There will be a short break around 11:00 AM each day. Students may be dropped off and picked up at the parking lot of the school closest to Grace Baptist Church.

Students will be building and programming Lego Mindstorms EV3 robots. Lego Mindstorms uses a drag and drop style coding process to introduce students to coding concepts.

For more information and to register, please contact Tammy West at Collinwood Depot Branch Library, 931-724-2498, by June 26th. This opportunity was made available through a state TOP grant.
