Clifton Man Arrested for Aggravated Assault

   Spencer Vance Deese, age 29, of Clifton, was arrested on Friday, April 30^th on charges of aggravated assault, simple possession of schedule VI marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Officer Jeffery Poynter of the Clifton Police Department filed a report stating that he was dispatched on a 911 call to The Bear Inn. Upon his arrival, Officer Poynter made contact with Deese and James Kyle Wood. Mr. Wood stated that he had earlier come between Deese and a female who were in a verbal altercation, and told Deese to leave the female alone. Deese then allegedly punched Woods and threatened him with a knife. Investigator Steve Wilson filed an additional arrest warrant against Deese, which stated that Deese was wanted on an active arrest warrant for aggravated assault on July 6^th, 2017. When Deese was arrested on April 30^th, he was allegedly found to be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Deese was booked into the Wayne County Jail on $52,500.00 bond.
