On Tuesday, December 14, the Collinwood High School Trojanettes went down to Lexington, Alabama to play the Lady Golden Bears. The girls had a good game staying ahead throughout the first half but got behind by 2 points with a 3-point buzzer beater by the Lady Bears with a halftime score of 30-28. The girls fought hard for the rest of the game and earned a victorious win with a final score of 77-59.
The highest scorer of the game was Alyssa Gray with 24 points and 9 rebounds. Following Gray was AC Whitehead with 17 points and 12 rebounds and Tessa Statom with 17 points and 5 rebounds. Danlee Bray had 9 points and 1 rebound, Hayley Siems had 4 points and 2 rebounds, Harlee Haddock had 2 points and 2 rebounds, and Janie Hernandez had 2 points and 1 rebound.
Following the Trojanette-Lady Golden Bear game was the Trojan-Golden Bear game. The Trojans trailed the Golden Bears in the first half, behind 15 points at halftime. The Trojans climbed their way back, turning it into an intense second half resulting in an overtime. The game resulted in an unfortunate loss for the Trojans with a final score of 69-63. The highest scorer of the game was Joe Houston Thompson with 24 points. Following Thompson was Peyton Ward with 12 points. Noah Haddock had 8 points, Benson Blalock and Fletcher Thompson had 7 points, Kelsey Moore had 3 points, and Carter Smith had 2 points.
On Friday, December 17, the Trojanettes went over to Clifton to play the Lady Lions. The Trojanettes came out strong in the first half with a halftime score of 42-18. The girls led throughout the whole game for a sweet win. The lead scorer of the game was Tessa Statom with 15 points and 4 rebounds. Right behind Statom was Hayley Siems with 11 points and 3 rebounds. AC Whitehead had 10 points and 6 rebounds, Alyssa Gray had 8 points and 3 rebounds, Janie Herdandez had 5 points and 1 rebound, Danlee Bray 5 points and 2 rebounds, Hannah Risner had 5 points and 2 rebounds, Harlee Haddock had 4 points, Cimmie Willis had 3 points and 2 rebounds, and Kaycee Luker had 1 point and 4 rebounds.
