CHS Trojanettes Defeat WCHS & Perry Co., Trojans Lose Two

   The CHS Trojanettes hosted Perry County on Tuesday, January 12. The girls had a slow start but picked up the pace to get a win with a score of 65-39. AC Whitehead led the team in scoring with 16 points and had 3 rebounds. Sophie Gobbell followed Whitehead with 12 points and had 6 rebounds. Asia Kelly had 9 points and 5 rebounds, Harlee Haddock had 9 points and 1 rebound, Alyssa Gray scored 6 points and had 2 rebounds, Addie Quillen had 6 points and 6 rebounds, Rhianna McWilliams scored 2 points and had 3 rebounds, Janie Hernandez and Hayley Siems each had 2 points and 4 rebounds, and Danlee Bray scored 1 point. 

   The CHS Trojans also faced Perry County on Tuesday. After a close game with overtime, the game resulted in a tough loss with the final score being 71-77. With 28 points, Peyton Ward led the team in scoring. Following Ward was Joe Thompson with 18 points. Dayton Scott scored 8 points, Cort Roberson, Aidan Baskins, and Benson Blalock each had 4 points, Noah Haddock scored 3 points, and Joe Hensley had 2 points. 

   On Friday, January 16, the Trojanettes took a short trip to Waynesboro to face their county rivals, the Wayne County Lady Cats. After an intense battle, the girls pulled through for a two-point win- 53-51. AC Whitehead led the team with 20 points and had 5 rebounds and Asia Kelly followed with 12 points and also had 12 rebounds. Harlee Haddock scored 10 points, Alyssa Gray had 5 points and 5 rebounds, Sophie Gobbell had 4 points and 2 rebounds, Rhianna McWilliams had 2 points and 5 rebounds, and Addie Quillen had 1 rebound. 

   Following the Trojanettes- Lady Cats game was the Trojans-Wildcats game. The county rivals went head to head but ultimately resulted in a loss for the Trojans with a score of 50-61. Peyton Ward led the team in scoring with 18 points and Benson Blalock followed with 13 points. Dayton Scott had 7 points, Cort Robertson and Noah Haddock each had 3 points, and Carter Smith, Joe Thompson, and Aidan Baskins each scored 2 points.
