After three weeks off, the Collinwood High School Trojanettes resumed the basketball season with a trip to Lexington that resulted in a 47-31 win on Tuesday, January 5. Asia Kelly led the Trojanettes in scoring with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Sophie Gobbell, AC Whitehead, and Danlee Bray followed Kelly with 9 points each. Whitehead had 8 rebounds. Gobbell and Bray each had 1 rebound. Harlee Haddock scored 3 points and had 1 rebound, and Rhianna McWilliams had 2 points and 1 rebound. Alyssa Gray had 5 rebounds, Addie Quillen had 3 rebounds, and Hannah Risner, Kaycee Luker, and Hayley Siems each had 1 rebound.
The Trojans also traveled to Lexington on Tuesday to resume the season. The game resulted in a tough loss, 42-63. Leading the team in scoring was Peyton Ward with 12 points. Joe Houston Thompson followed close behind Ward with 10 points. Noah Haddock scored 7 points, Dayton Scott had 6 points, Edward Dutton scored 3 points, and Joe Hensley and Landon Lovelace each had 2 points.
Friday, January 8, the Trojanettes hosted Loretto at home and suffered a loss, 41-73. AC Whitehead led the team in scoring with 11 points and had 3 rebounds, and Sophie Gobbell followed with 9 points and had 7 rebounds. Rhianna McWilliams finished the game with 5 points and 1 rebound. Alyssa Gray also scored 5 points, and had 2 rebounds. Asia Kelly had 5 points and 7 rebounds, Harlee Haddock scored 3 points, Addie Quillen had 2 points and 2 rebounds, and Hayley Siems had 1 point and 2 rebounds. Kaycee Luker had 3 rebounds, and Hannah Risner had 1 rebound.
Following the Trojanettes’ game on Friday, the Trojans also hosted Loretto. Unfortunately, the Trojans also suffered a loss, 40-69. Joe Houston Thompson led the team in scoring with 11 points, and Edward Dutton followed with 8 points. Aidan Baskins and Benson Blalock each scored 5 points. Cort Robertson and Noah Haddock each had 3 points, and Fletcher Thompson, Joe Hensley, and Landon Lovelace each had 2 points.
