The Downtown Waynesboro Committee will be hosting the first annual “Christmas on the Square” this Saturday, December 5, 2020 from 4pm – 6pm. The event is set to begin prior to the Waynesboro Christmas Parade featuring 35+ “Pop-Up Shops” vending a varied collection of hand-crafted goodies from a wide assortment of vendors.

Items for purchase will include hand-crafted holiday ornaments, home décor, painted wooden signs, door hangers, soaps, hand-made jewelry, scented candles, custom made shirts/hoodies, delicious foods, baked goods, hot drinks and much, much more!

Many local, home-based businesses will be on display allowing the community to become acquainted with the various types of services they provide. Others will showcase their talents and provide information.

After strolling through the vendors, stop by the gazebo for the little ones to visit Santa before going to the “Grinch Party” hosted by the Grinch himself! Stop by the “Elf Bash” for sugar cookie decorating and wander over to roast a s’more! Write your own “Letter to Santa” asking for that special gift and listen to local talent sing beautiful Christmas carols. All activities are FREE for you to enjoy!

Be sure to make your way around the square and visit the businesses open late offering special sales/discounts and do some Christmas shopping. The square merchants will be hosting their own unique “Merry-Making” activities/give-a-ways in front of their shops, so be sure to check them out as well!

The Downtown Waynesboro Committee invites you to enjoy these festivities. We want to make this event a safe one for everybody. Masks are required and we ask you to practice safe social distancing while enjoying a night out with your family and friends. We hope this event will start your holiday season with great shopping, good food and wonderful fellowship while supporting the community. Help us make this an annual event like no other for a year like no other! See you there!—Submitted
