   Charles William Thompson, Westpoint, TN, born November 27, 1942 in Wayne County, TN, to the late Charlie Wayne and Marjorie Camilla Keeton Thompson, was a truck driver and member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. He served in the United States Army and departed this life on Monday, October 4, 2021 at his home at the age of 78 years, 10 months, 7 days.

   Survivors, his wife of 43 years, Jo  Ann Caperton Thompson, Westpoint, TN; son, Jimmy Linville, wife, Katy, Killen, AL; daughters, Colleen Smoke, husband, Greg, Westpoint, TN, Darlene Yentzen, husband, Mark, Lumberton, TX; grandchildren, Brandon Butler, wife, Deanna, Jamel Horton, Paul Smoke, wife,  Madison, Calli Roberts, fiance’, Zach Hardy, Jackson, Zoe and Tori Linville; great-grandchildren, Will, Alex, Sophie, Bryson, Dominic, Holland and Abrie; brother, Jasper Thompson, wife, Brenda, Lawrenceburg, IN; sisters, Paulette Thompson, Marathon, FL, Joyce Seale, husband, Dan, Springfield, MO, Glenda Sugg, husband, John, Cuyahoga, OH, Susan Shimp, husband, Todd, Akron, OH; nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Barbara and Dorothy Thompson.

   Services will be Friday, October 8, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Bethlehem Baptist Church, Westpoint, Tennessee, with Jerry L. Robbins officiating. Burial with military rites will follow in the church cemetery with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County directing. Visitation is Thursday, October 7, 2021, 6-8 pm at Shackelford Funeral Directors, Collinwood, TN and Friday, October 8, 2021, 11:30 am-1 pm at Bethlehem Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be Jackson Linville, Brandon Butler, Johnny Sugg, Todd Shimp, Paul Smoke and Adam Todd.
