Charles Edward Walker of Waynesboro, TN was born September 16, 1938 in Waynesboro, TN. He was a son of the late Vernest and Gladys Thompson Walker. He was united in marriage to the former Pamela Sue Bridges on June 12, 2021. Mr. Walker was a retired factory worker at Hickory Hills Manufacturing in Clifton, TN and was a member of the Friendship Baptist in Waynesboro, TN. He departed this life on Friday, July 31, 2022 in Savannah, TN at the age of 83 years, 10 months and 15 days.
He is survived by his wife, Pamela Sue Bridges Walker and a sister, Billie Thompson and husband, James, all of Waynesboro, TN. In addition to his parents, Mr. Walker was preceded in death by a daughter, Telisa Lynn Walker McNeese; two brothers, Willard Walker and James Carmin “JC” Walker; and three sisters, Mary McClain, Betty Jo Carrington and Edith Burns.
A graveside service was held on Monday, August 8, 2022 at Walker Cemetery near Waynesboro, Tennessee with John Blackwell and Brant Sanders officiating. Burial followed with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County assisting the family. Visitation was on Monday, August 8, 2022 from 12 noon until service time at the cemetery.
