I, Carol Warren, would like to announce my candidacy for the office of Circuit Court Clerk of Wayne County in the August 4, 2022 County election.

My journey began at the Wayne County Circuit Court Clerk’s office in 2007. I knew upon being hired that I had found my place and became very passionate about my position. I served as a Deputy Clerk in General Sessions, Circuit, and Juvenile Civil and Criminal Courts under the direction of Mr. Bill Crews who is retiring this year. I learned the basic fundamentals of a Deputy Clerk, preparing court dockets, cost bills, collecting court fines and costs, and building a great working relationship with all involved in the judiciary system, including Judges, District Attorney General’s Office, Public Defender’s Office, Wayne  County Sheriff’s Department, Bonding Companies, Wayne County Probation, driving and drug school, as well as private attorneys and co-workers in the office. I was added to bookkeeper in 2015. The Circuit Court Clerk collects all fines, court costs, and litigation taxes for the Court system. My experience in this office gives me direct knowledge of the importance of accounting for this money properly. In addition, I am aware of the many agencies and offices that the Circuit Court Clerk corresponds with regularly and the need to communicate with them effectively. Online payment began in our office from Courtfeepay.com. in 2020, a great move by Mr. Crews.

After working as an employee for 15 years I would like to take my experiences and become the Circuit Court Clerk of Wayne County. I seek this position as a public servant and out of love for this office to serve the County diligently to keep our systems updated. I will continue to make improvements and strive to make the office the best and most efficient in the state.

I live on highway 13 North of Waynesboro where I have lived most of my life. I’m just a country girl at heart. My parents were the late Clyde and Marie White Pope. I have three brothers, N.J., Donnie, and Ronnie Pope, and one sister, Linda Blackwell, and they all live in Wayne County. I am married to Richard D. Warren, the son of the late Alton Lee and Shirley Eads Warren of Waynesboro, Tennessee. Richard is employed with Roger’s Group Inc. as an Asphalt Superintendent. We have one daughter Crystal Ray (Tim), and one son Eric Warren (Shelley). We have four grandchildren, Callie Ray Scoggin (John), Chloe Warren, Lacey Ray, and Urijah Warren. We are truly blessed to have all our family in the county.

I attend Phillips Chapel Church.  I love my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I serve as Secretary/Treasurer for our church family.

I would like to ask for your VOTE and support for the office of Circuit Court Clerk on August 4, 2022.  Thank you and May God Bless You.
