Billy Joe Moore of Iron City, Tennessee was born July 27, 1951 in Iron City, Tennessee, the son of the late Billy Russ Moore and Bertie Ruth Kelley Moore Paulson and husband, Don Paulson. He married Deborah Jo Haynes Moore, January 16, 1970 and she preceded him in death, May 4, 2009. Mr. Moore, a retired machinist from TVA and farmer, was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, Iron City, Tennessee, a member of Machinist Local #65 and a member of Masonic Lodge #702. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in Vietnam and he also served in the Kansas National Guard for five years.
He is survived by a son, Billy Russ (Rusty) Moore, Iron City, TN; three daughters, Peggy Daniel and husband, Greg, Iron City, TN, Jennifer Moore, Collinwood, TN and Codie Saint and husband, Heath, Cullman, AL; grandchildren, Blaze Daniel, Ryley Daniel, Mariah Holt, Atticus Saint, Abe Saint, Alex Moore and Ace Moore, and was expecting his first great-grandson, Archer Blaze Daniel in April, 2021; two brothers, Dwain Moore, Iron City, TN and Donnie Paulson, Town Creek, AL; four sisters, Glenda Franks, Florence, AL, Brenda Beckham, Leighton, AL, Vicky Durkin, Lexington, KY and Tobitha Bousman, Beach Island, SC and nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Moore was preceded in death by two sisters, Sue Dixon and Shelia Ann Moore.
Services will be held on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at 3:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel, Collinwood, Tennessee, with Greg Eaton officiating. Burial will follow in Macedonia Cemetery, Iron City, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County directing. Pallbearers will be Chris Odle, Eric Moore, Jason Parrish, Michael Malone, Lance Tripp, Kelsey Moore and Russell Moore with honorary pallbearers being Ace Moore, Jessie Bousman and Cameron Paulson.
