Arrests Include Meth, Evading/Resisting Arrest, and Grand Jury Indicments

Perry Thane Franks, age 62, of Tuscumbia, AL, was arrested on Monday, June 6, 2022 on indictments handed down by the Wayne County Grand Jury in October and November of 2017. Franks was indicted on three counts of violation of community supervision for life. He was booked into the Wayne County Jail on $45,000.00 bond.

Michael Brent Hindman, age 41, of Waynesboro was arrested on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 on charges of manufacture/deliver/sell/possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Deputy Brett Rinehart filed a report stating that while on a traffic stop with Hindman, he searched the vehicle and allegedly found a glass pipe and a glass vial containing methamphetamine in the center console. Hindman was arrested and booked into the Wayne County Jail on $77,500.00 bond.

Kelli Brooke Rich, age 27, of Cypress Inn, TN was arrested on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 on multiple charges. Sgt. Holly Tuck and Deputy James Brock were attempting to conduct a warrant service on Rich and another individual at a residence on Beech Creek Road when both Rich and the other suspect fled on foot. Following a brief foot pursuit, Sgt. Tuck apprehended Rich, who was lying in an overgrowth of weeds. Rich was allegedly in possession of two bags which were allegedly found to hold smaller bags containing 0.7 grams of methamphetamine, eight syringes, a metal spoon, two glass pipes, and two metal filter screens. Rich was arrested on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting stop/arrest, failure to appear, and violation of probation. She was booked into the Wayne County Jail with no bond.

Jason Dale Mathis, age 47, of Waynesboro was arrested on Friday, June 10, 2022 on charges of DUI and introduction of contraband into a penal facility. Officer Cody Jones of the Waynesboro Police Department filed a report stating that Mathis was observed passed out in his parked vehicle. After multiple attempts to wake Mathis, Officer Jones opened the truck door, at which time Mathis awoke. Mathis allegedly had slurred speech, seemed disoriented, and failed to perform several field sobriety tests as instructed. At that time, Mathis was arrested for DUI and transported to the Wayne County Jail. When correctional officers were performing a search on Mathis upon his arrival at the jail, a bag containing methamphetamine was allegedly discovered in his wallet. Mathis then received an additional charge of introduction of contraband into a penal facility, and was booked into the jail on $52,500.00 bond.

Larry Darrell Patton, age 37, of Hohenwald, TN, was arrested on Sunday, June 12, 2022 on multiple charges following a brief pursuit by law enforcement. According to the report filed by Deputy Brandon Grady, he attempted to perform a traffic stop on the vehicle driven by Patton on Old Highway 64 West. Patton allegedly failed to stop for the lights and sirens, and was pursued on Natural Bridge Road until he came to a stop near Poplar Street in Lewis County. Patton was taken into custody at that time and charged with evading arrest, reckless endangerment, reckless driving, and driving on a revoked/suspended license 2nd offense. He was booked into the Wayne County Jail on $85,000.00 bond.
