Concerned neighbors of the homeowner, who happened to be out of town at the time, noticed a woman later identified as Barker prowling around and eventually entering the home. The homeowner arrived back home just as the neighbors were getting ready to enter the home, and she initially entered the home with them. After noticing some items in disarray, the male neighbor allegedly located Barker hiding in a bedroom. 911 was called, and while the officer was en route, the concerned neighbor held Barker at gunpoint until the officer arrived. Barker was immediately arrested, and a search of the house revealed several bags of the homeowner’s clothes that Barker allegedly intended to steal from the home. Barker alleged admitted to entering the back door of the home by using a debit card, and told law enforcement that she “was just looking for a place to sleep.” She was arrested on charges of aggravated burglary and theft of property under $1,000, and was booked into the Wayne County Jail on $60,000.00 bond.
