Arnell Skaggs Turnbo

   Arnell Skaggs Turnbo was born on October 15, 1941, in Collinwood, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Wiley and Madgie Brewer Skaggs. On May 6, 1961, she was united in marriage to John Thomas Turnbo, who survives.

   Arnell retired from the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services, where she spent many years as a case worker. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, as well as the Order of the Eastern Star. She also spent many years as a member with the Anytime Santa Organization. Arnell was known for always being happy. She dearly loved her husband, her son, and her grandchildren.

   Arnell departed this life on Friday, January 13, 2023 in Waynesboro, Tennessee, at the age of 81 years, 2 months, and 29 days.

   She is survived by her husband of 62 years, John Thomas Turnbo; son, Manuel Turnbo and wife Wonda of Waynesboro, Tennessee; sisters, Blanche Burnett, Maddie Pearl (Pat) Burns, Patricia (Patty) Pigg, and Jeanine Ana (Penny) Dodd; grandchildren, Tamara Ratcliff and husband John of Henderson, Tennessee, Kelli Violet and husband Josh of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, and Sabra McCrory and husband Colby of Waynesboro, Tennessee; great-grandchildren, William Ratcliff, Isaac Ratcliff, Bo Thomas Ratcliff, Acelyn Violet, Barrett Violet, Nolan McCrory, and Saige McCrory.

   In addition to her parents, Arnell was preceded in death by her brothers, Dalton Skaggs, Tommy Skaggs, Darnell Skaggs, and Donald Ray Skaggs; sisters, Thelma Stults, Mary Franks, and Faye Pennington; and grandson-in-law, Brandon Whidden.
