Kathy Michelle Pennington, age 50, of Killen, Alabama, was arrested on Friday, September 25th on charges of possession of schedule II with intent to resale and felony possession of drug paraphernalia. Officer Jonathan Kelly of the Waynesboro Police Department filed a report stating that he responded to a call of a green Ford Explorer swerving all over the road. When Officer Kelly made contact with the vehicle, it was allegedly failing to maintain its lane, so a traffic stop was performed. Officer Kelly requested K9 backup, and the K9 allegedly “hit” on the presence of drugs in the vehicle. A search of the vehicle allegedly revealed a non-prescribed pill bottle containing 19 pills identified as morphine inside Pennington’s purse. Also allegedly located in the purse were two syringes and a metal spoon. Pennington was arrested and booked into the Wayne County Jail on $35,000.00 bond.
