The Collinwood Middle School girls’ basketball team completed their season last week, finishing in the final four of the James C. Haile State Tournament. Their season ended with a record of 20 wins and 4 losses, and they finished second in the county tournament.
This group of players is an example for all within the classroom as well as on the ball court. They have displayed true grit and hustle throughout their season. The team was led by a strong group of 8th graders who will be missed but will truly excel at the high school level. Belle Robinson, Abby Smith, Claire Scott, and Sophia Keeton are role models and true leaders.
The younger players for the upcoming season of next year have already displayed the same hustle and determination which make these girls so fun to watch from the stands, and to coach from the sidelines.—Submitted
