On Thursday, May 5, 2022, the United States celebrated The National Day of Prayer. The National Day of Prayer is an annual day of observance designated “to turn to God in prayer and meditation.” It was created in 1952 by a joint resolution of the United States Congress and signed into law by President Harry S. Truman. The National Day of Prayer is a call for us to humbly come before God, seeking His guidance for our leaders and His grace upon us as a people. Wayne County community leaders led prayers on the Waynesboro square to commemorate this day. Among those prayed for were teachers, preachers, military members, business owners, government officials, law enforcement, and many others.
