Tennessee First Lady Maria Lee paid a visit to Waynesboro on Monday to work with other volunteers on the renovation project at the Wayne County Helping Hands Gateway House, which will provide housing for women in recovery from alcohol/drug addiction or other life-controlling problems.
The house, located at 1075 Highway 99, was donated to Helping Hands by the Wayne County Bank. The renovation project is fully funded by donations and volunteer labor. While the First Lady was visiting, she graciously rolled up her sleeves and pitched in with the work.
