May the New Year find you safe and healthy! As we go into 2021, I challenge all 4-H members to find ways to apply the 4-H Pledge to make the world around them a better place. Let us pledge our heads to clearer thinking, our hearts to greater loyalty, our hands to larger service, and our health to better living. Ways you could apply your head clearer thinking would be to read a book, training your brain with puzzles, or minimizing use of electronics. Being a good friend, supporting a cause you care about, or reconnecting with your family are all good ways to pledge your heart to loyalty. Putting your hands to larger service is easy! You can volunteer, get crafty to make things for others, or find ways to serve others! Pledging your health to better living is easy (and fun!) – you can get outside, try a healthy new recipe, and hydrate with water (add fruit, cucumbers, or a bit of sugar-free flavoring if regular water is too plain)!

Taking the 4-H Challenge can help you deal with all of the craziness going on around us, as well as get 2021 off to a fantastic start with making healthy choices and enacting positive change in the world around you.
