2021 Beef Expo

Avery Rowlett did a fantastic job of representing Wayne County in the Beef Expo at the Wilson County Fairgrounds in Lebanon this year! She brought home numerous awards: 3rd Place in Junior High Beef Showmanship, 1st Place in Commercial Heifer, Grand Champion – Farm Bred Heifer, 1st Place in Registered Angus Heifer, 1st Place in Registered AOB Heifer, Reserve Champion AOB Heifer, Third Overall in Top 5 Heifers at the 2021 TJLE Beef Expo, 2nd Place Premier Exhibitor in the Junior High Division – Commercial Heifer, 3rd Place Premier Exhibiter in the Junior High division – Registered Heifer.

Congratulations to Avery for her high placings and great job for all of her hard work! Also, much appreciation goes to her parents and family members for transporting her animals and helping her with the show.

2021 Sewing Camp

This year, we had two youth who signed up to learn the art of sewing. Patrick Sherrill and Emma Green joined us at the office for three days to learn how to operate the machine, create projects, and hand stitch. Our fantastic volunteer leader, Rubye Parham, helped instruct the class and showed the 4-H members different sewing techniques on the machines. They each created multiple items, such as travel tissue holders, ear warmers, hoot-owl magnets, and more! It was great to be able to host a 4-H Sewing Camp after not being able to for the past year due to Covid-19.
