The 2021 4-H Chick Chain was held on September 18, 2021 at the Waynesboro City Park. Eight 4-H members brought their best pullets to show, and it was quite the difficult contest to judge! Neal Smith, the Western Region 4-H Specialist, was the judge for this year’s contest. After placing the animals, Mr. Smith explained to the participants what he looked for as he was judging the birds and answered questions from the participants.
The placings were as follows: Grand Champion – Isabella Richardson; Reserve Champion – Austin Brewer; Blue Ribbons – Tucker Monroe, Boston Pope; Red Ribbons – Dalton Strickland, Arianna Patterson, Mandy Brewer, Marley Wills.
