Homecoming Week at Wayne County High School

   Wayne County High School will celebrate Homecoming this Friday night as the Wildcat football team  takes on the visiting Eagleville Eagles. As part of the Homecoming festivities, each class had this week to decorate their banner around a chosen decade. Freshmen chose the 70s, Sophomores chose the 2000s, Juniors chose the 80s, and Seniors chose the 90s. The banners will be located on the fence line as you walk into the stadium.

   Students have been participating in events all week long such as dress-up days to show their school spirit. This year’s dress up days revolved around the theme “Wildcat Time” and are as follows: Monday-“Time to Wake up” –Pajama Day, Tuesday- “Time to Grow Up”- 9th & 10th dress as babies and 11th & 12th dress as the elderly, Wednesday- “Time to Flashback”- Decades Day, Thursday- “Time to Represent” – Class Shirt Day, Friday- “Time to Win”- Black and Gold Day. The students are also competing in a scavenger hunt that contains questions from the years of 1991, 2001, and 2011.

   Students will participate in a lip sync battle and the annual field day on Thursday. Friday morning activities will continue with our Homecoming Parade.The annual Homecoming parade will leave WCHS on Friday morning at 8:15 a.m. and circle the square, then return to WCHS for the pep rally.

   Homecoming Royalty is as follows: Freshman Maid- Emma Bryant, Sophomore Maid- Kiara White, Junior Maid- Kyla Overton, Senior Maid- Madison Gobbell, and Homecoming Queen- Savanna McClain.

   The Homecoming Ceremony begins at 6:30 followed by kickoff at 7:00 p.m.
