CHS Trojanettes Defeat Perry County, Trojans & Trojanettes Lose to Loretto

   On Tuesday, January 26th, the Collinwood High School Trojanettes traveled to Loretto and suffered a loss of 40-77 against the tough Lady Mustangs team. AC Whitehead led the team in scoring with 16 points and had 3 rebounds. Alyssa Gray had 8 points and 1 rebound, Asia Kelly scored 6 points and had 3 rebounds, Harlee Haddock scored 5 points, Sophie Gobbell had 2 points and 3 rebounds, Addie Quillen scored 2 points, and Janie Hernandez scored 1 point. Rhianna McWilliams had 2 rebounds and Kaycee Luker had 1 rebound.

   Following the Trojanettes game on Tuesday, the CHS Trojans faced the Loretto Mustangs, and also ended with a loss, 44-82. Peyton Ward led the team in scoring with 10 points, and Edward Dutton followed with 8 points. Joe Thompson scored 7 points, Fletcher Thompson scored 5 points, Benson Blalock had 4 points, Dayton Scott and Kelsey Moore each had 3 points, and Carter Smith and Blake Whitten each scored 2 points.

   Friday, January 29th was also an away game for the Trojans and Trojanettes. They traveled to Perry County to take on the Vikings and Lady Vikings. The Trojanettes started out slow, but battled to ultimately come out on top with a win of 39-35 over the Lady Vikings. Alyssa Gray led the team in scoring with 13 points and had 4 rebounds, and Harlee Haddock followed with 8 points and 2 rebounds. AC Whitehead scored 7 points and had 2 rebounds, Sophie Gobbell had 6 points and 2 rebounds, and Asia Kelly had 5 points and 4 rebounds. Rhianna McWilliams had 3 rebounds and Addie Quillen had 1 rebound.

   The Trojans then faced the Vikings. After an intense game, the Trojans unfortunately suffered defeat by a final score of 53-68. Joe Thompson led the team in scoring with 15 points. Peyton Ward followed Thompson with 12 points. Noah Haddock scored 7 points, Dayton Scott scored 5 points, Aidan Baskins had 4 points, Cort Robertson and Kelsey Moore each scored 3 points, and Benson Blalock and Fletcher Thompson each had 3 points.—Submitted
