Justin Keith Russell, age 37, of Waynesboro, was arrested on Tuesday, September 1st on charges of aggravated domestic assault and resisting stop or arrest. Sergeant Eric Wilson of the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office filed a report stating that he received a call regarding a domestic disturbance in progress on Simmons Branch Road. Upon Sgt. Wilson’s arrival at the residence, he spoke with the alleged victim, Debbie Russell, who stated that her son Justin Russell had assaulted her. Justin Russell allegedly put his mother in a head lock and choked her, held a knife to her arm and threatened to stab her, and hit her on the back of her head with his hand. When Sgt. Wilson approached Justin Russell on the back porch of the residence, Russell allegedly attempted to run inside the house. Sgt. Wilson then pulled Russell back onto the porch, but Russell allegedly refused to put his hands behind his back as Sgt. Wilson instructed him to do. Sgt. Wilson was finally able to get Russell under control and place him in handcuffs. Justin Russell was transported and booked into the Wayne County Jail on $51,000.00 bond.
