Members of the Wayne County High School Senior Class of 2020 were honored with a parade on Main Street and around the square on Friday, May 15th, the day on which their graduation ceremony was originally planned. The coronavirus pandemic has affected all aspects of life for both young and old alike, but this year’s high school graduates have been affected in a unique way by the cancellation of the last months of their Senior year and all the activities associated with it. Tentative dates for the postponed graduation ceremonies in Wayne County have been set for Frank Hughes School on Tuesday, June 9th; Collinwood High School on Thursday, June 11th; and Wayne County High School on Friday, June 12th. All of our graduates will hopefully still get to celebrate the traditional commencement ceremonies on those days, but in the meantime, the rainbow seen in the photo at the beginning of Friday’s parade is a reminder that this “storm” shall pass, and more promising days lie ahead!
