State Issues Wrong Tag Renewals For January/February

The Wayne County Clerk's office has issued a notice to all Wayne Countians that due to an error by the state, the tag renewal notices that citizens have already begun receiving for January and February list the incorrect amount due for tag renewals. Beginning January 1st, the new wheel tax amount of $20.00 should have been added to the renewal, and .25 cents of the clerk fee should have been dropped, making a normal tag renewal $85.00.
