The old Tennessee apparel building has come alive again with its very welcome new tenants; founders Jerry and Kathy Wootten's HomTex, Inc.The roots of the company began spreading in the Wootten home in 1987 where the first sheets were cut and sewn by family members, often late into the night.Now, 28 years later, HomTex has grown exponentially to become a leading innovator in the global textiles industry.While the corporate headquarters are still in the Wootten's hometown of Vinemont, AL, they now have domestic production and distribution facilities in the Carolinas, and nowTennessee. Althoughprimarily a domestic company, they also have overseas locations in India and China to address specific needs and supplement peak demands.
