On Thursday, March12, the Red Cross Disaster Assistance Team (DAT) came to the Waynesboro American Legion Post 130, the Red Cross designated shelter in the area, to train new volunteers. Wayne County Executive Jason Rich and Road Commissioner, Chuck Moser were both in attendance to show their support for this ongoing effort. Ronnie Tripp, Post 130 Commander and George Mansfield, Government Liaison, also were in attendance.
Volunteers are needed to train for emergencies. Volunteers also are needed to set up cooling tents and bring food and coffee (provided by the Red Cross) to weary firefighters.
