The annual Wayne County audit for fiscal year July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2014, has been completed by the State Comptroller's office. According to the report, Wayne County leaders have made some progress, but more needs to be done to correct the problems detailed. The audit highlights 17 problems spread across several county offices. 12 of these findings were also cited in last year's report but had not been corrected. The findings include problems with accounting, budgeting, purchasing, and payroll. Several issues with the Wayne County Board of Public Utilities were also noted.
