Original W. W. II Vessel Passes Through Clifton
The USS LST 325 passed through Clifton on the Tennessee River on Tuesday of last week as it made its way to Decatur, Alabama. The original World War II vessel carried tanks during the D-Day invasion at Omaha Beach in Normandy, France on June 6, 1944. Hundreds of local residents lined Clifton\'s shore to honor the ship, which played patriotic music as it traveled down the river.
